If Annette gets made and does reasonably well, getting financing for TSOIB might be easier. On the surface, Annette seems like a more commercially viable project.

Still prefer the original version, but if it brings the music to a new audience, why not.
Jori Hulkkonen lives quite close to me, I suppose. I see him walking around every now and then.

By the time of Plagiarism Mike Patton had been with FNM for about 9 years. In fact, they split up shortly after that. It's highly unlikely Sparks had any contact with CM through FNM.

I remember Ron and Russell telling Steve Jones that Sex Pistols turning down the RRHOF was the right thing to do. They're apparently not interested.

My pick would be I Wish You Were Fun as well. The key to airplay IMO is a single that sounds like Sparks. As much as I like Unaware, I fear radio wouldn't play it for that reason.
As physical single ...

I'm guessing Mini Mansions won't be too busy in the near future since Michael Schuman and QOTSA will be on tour promoting their new album for a while. Then again, a new Sparks album probably won't sur ...

I guess they may be tied up with Anette next year, but surely work on a new album must be in the back of their minds after the reception of Hippopotamus. Would be a shame if the band members just drif ...

Ok, so it's only been out for a week, but I wonder if the great reception has changed R&Rs priorities when it comes to working on movie music vs. Sparks records?
I sincerely hope they get Annette ...

It seems to be a track that divides listeners. Personally, I love it. After a brief intro and three excellent, but slightly more straightforward songs it appears as if to shake off casual listeners be ...

Kermit (and others) so right about the excellent PR but could only be so successful because what they were promoting is such fantastic material.

Agree. Their best music+sales in a long time. Win-wi ...

Still stunned by the Top 10 position. My mind races. Renewed record contract, follow-up soon-ish, Annette gets funding, Sparks in the press etc.

Album arrived. Stunning cover. Ron possibly wearing ...

The Amazing Mr Repeat is my favorite at the moment. The bridge section ("sign here, son") that starts 1:08 into the song and occurs twice is pure songwriting masterclass. The sound that appe ...

After a few hours of listening I gotta say I'm floored. The preview tracks were good, but Giddy Giddy, The Amazing Mr. Repeat, A Little Bit Like Fun and Life With The Macbeths are simply incredible. U ...

I agree. Excellent songs and the most interesting, sonically, of the ones I've heard so far. It's shaping up to be a really varied album.
