I prefer the old colour scheme. The black background matched the home page (with the typewriter) and contrasts well with the emoticons and on the index page it's easier to spot which topics have new posts indicated by the yellow icon.

People might get confused...the "black colour scheme" was new when the typewriter was introduced...the current colour sceme is the old(original) one prior to the upgrade.
I don't mind what the colour sceme is myself,as long it's there.

Ah, I wasn't aware of that, as I have only been a member of the forum since the typewriter was introduced, although I had looked around the site many times when it was still www.sparksofficialwebsite.com (or something like that). I tried to amend the poll to remove the old/new but it doesn't allow you to do it.

Can't we have a colourschema to match the new album colours?

I like that idea. At the same time they could add ECOTD to the display of spinning albums in the discography; it's over a year old now!

I actually fancy the other one. It's easier on the eyes.

I wonder how the decision came about to change things?

I agree! I think it looked better it also matched the main site, unless perhaps the whole website's going to change?

I'd venture it was done to appease(for very little thanks) those who said their titles were coming up too small, and in attending to this, the original colour scheme has come back.

Hmm. I wonder who's in charge of this kind of thing (and if/when they make an appearance on the forum)?

Can't imagine it was planned. A glitch that reverted back to default and none of the powers that be has noticed!

I was one of the moaners when it all went black, but now this reversion looks ugly.

I say 'back to black!'

If it goes back to the black one and the topic titles are too small will there be a fresh flurry of complaints?....IMO it's a no win situation for the webmaster

I imagine that changing the colour scheme is just a 2 minute job editing a style sheet, so if changing it back to black brings back the small font problem, then it's a simple job to change the colours back again too.

Yeah, things can be fast & easy if you know how to and got the convidence by experience. I gues if it really was that easy they'd done it by now.

In my experience i rather make a good back-up before i start fiddling about. That sometimes takes up to 50x more time than the actual thing i have to change on a server.

I'm of an age when reversed out (white letters on black page) is getting hard to read!
Plus, if you are still on dial up, as I am, this configuration loads a lot quicker.

Yeah, at certain times of the day!
Mock if you want, but dial up has certain advantages:
1: It's cheaper
2: If you live in a rural area miles from the nearest telephone exchange, dial-up with a compression programme isn't that much slower than broadband
3: Male teenage offspring aren't so inclined to spend hours online when each page takes ages to load, mine have even been known to read something instead!

aaaaaah a hardware solution for a software problem.

I remember the old dial-up days and it was okay for some time but after a while it just irritated to much, no internet radio, streaming media was hell, opening flashwebsite took ages...the cheapest broadband is good & fast enough for me, not to expensive.

Plus I just don't like reading books... unless they're comics.

Libraries used to be the glory of Britain before they decided to rebrand them as "media centres"!
Bah Humbug.
And just to reiterate on my earlier post, my compression programme has gone AWOL tonight and I can still load the forum on dial-up in under 20 seconds, so there!
