Unusually, I was in a public house this afternoon. On the TV screens was a channel called "Vintage" playing an assortment of big hits from the 60s / 70s / 80s. Largely the performances were ignored by the talkative clientele. Surprised I was when suddenly appeared the seldom seen video / film, set in an epicurean English grand house, for This Town Aint Big Enough for the Both Us. My own amazement at encountering it, however, was surpassed by awareness of a sudden lull among the regulars who were goldfish-mouthed and wide-eyed in focus. Absolute silence ensued for at least the first half of the song. I couldn't quite figure whether this was appreciation or disgust or whatever. However, it was definitely a reaction that no other chart topping artists got!

Glad you got to see Sparks on VintageTV Alli. I often watch the channel, 82 on your Freeview plus. It's great when all you want is some hits from the past. I've been watching it for well over a year now and have actually emailed the channel twice now asking for them to play some Sparks. Sounds like they have taken notice at last! Great to hear they still turn heads over forty years later, that song never dates.
Anyone feeling like raising some more Sparks awareness then do e-mail the channel. During the nighttime hours they often have interviews with 70's & 80's artists. I informed them Sparks will be here soon and not to miss out on the opportunity for a good interview so the more people who show an interest the more hopefully Vintage will listen.
