I think this album is the best Sparks album since Kimono My House.
Just saying...

In my opinion, is under Hello Young Lovers, for example.

Propaganda was already a much better album than kimono imo!
I think Hippopotamus is very accessible and a good album but far from their best.

I think some of the songs e.g. Edith Piaf are among their best, others such as Giddy Giddy not their best.

agree kimono was brilliant but propaganda was the best, imo, not to be compared to 40 years ago...please !!!!... as for 2017 this is the most revitaliseds the maes have been for many years, loved the 2000 plus albums but this as important as the island records, hope that the juices will flow and flow for the next baby!!!!!!!!!!

I love all their albums, to be fair, but Kimono My House will always have a special place in my heart and will always be the best Sparks album for me. I was 12 when I saw it (and Psychomodo) in Woolworths window on my way home from school and begged my mum to buy them for me for Christmas, having never heard either. That started my love for Sparks. Then, this Christmas, I was bought Hippopotamus and, when I played it, it was like that first time all over again. It's an amazing album. I agree with the comment about 'Giddy' but it does actually grow on you and the lyrics are really quirky (as if they wouldn't be :) ).
