Great track Buckeye-hard to believe albums like this and better albums sunk without trace.Lava lamps by Crestworth are best for accompanying this album.Having a prog out Saturday and played King Crimson Red after this.

On a related note, I've been 'discovering' some Golden Earring pre "Moontan". BTW, I heard "Vanilla Queen" on the radio last week.

The album "Together"('72) is similar to "Moontan" with a proggy vibe but much of the earlier stuff has a psychedelic sound.

I recommend, "The Road Swallowed Her Name" from the album "Seven Tears" (71). In one word, 'HEAVY'.

7/10

Love Moontan Buckeye especially the extended version of Radar Love. The closest i've got to the 2 albums you mention is Hearing Earring which is a compilation of those 2 albums. Its very good too.Their later stuff suffers for me.Unlike Sparks who continue to astound.Moontan was probably the cut off point.Been listenting to Gentle Giant Octopus 3 times this afternoon really good album.

The U.S. version of Desolation Boulevard is actually a best of from the U.K. version of Desolation Boulevard and Sweet Fanny Adams plus Ballroom Blitz, All killer, no filler!

Side one
"Ballroom Blitz"
"The Six Teens"
"No You Don't"
"A.C.D.C."
"I Wanna Be Committed"

Side two
"Sweet F.A."
"Fox on the Run"
"Set Me Free"
"Into the Night"
"Solid Gold Brass"

Yeah Buckeye it was a total different album to the UK Desolation.Think it may have come out a while after the UK version too? Both versions are great and by this time they were invited to play Charlton Athletic football ground by Pete Townshend supporting The Who. Brian got a beating and suffered a blow to his throat and they could'nt play the gig.Brian's voice was never the same after this.My favourite band as a kid and i still love their records.Only Andy left with us now.
