I see a number have mentioned Tears For Fears’ Tipping Point. I have been listening to that too. Really good though a song or two were over produced. I assume those are from the original recording session years ago that they mostly ditched.

You mentioned these might be old recordings so I had to check.

According to Wiki, the band didn't start on the Tipping Point album until 2013. The story only starts there...the wiki article is a good read.

My info came from what Orzabal said in a Rolling Stone interview.

New release by Working Men's Club is Fear Fear. It has an overall goth/synth feel that bounces back and forth between dark and dancey. I feel like I'm walking into a mysterious club when I listen. I'll give it a 7/10 today because it's payday and I feel good.

Enjoy!

Miles Out to Sea: The Roots of British Power Pop 1969-1975
Various Artists

One reviewer said, "The three discs here are jammed with warbly glam rockers, jangling dreamers, introspective piano pushers, melodic hard rockers, tuneful oddballs, and radio friendly gumdroppers". Yep, that about sums it up.

I'll be honest, there is a ton of music here that I didn't know. It might be because I'm not British or it might be because many of these songs fall into the category of 'nice filler for a comp with a smattering of stars'. Regardless, it's fun to check out some of the lesser known bands from the era. Certainly not essential but mostly listenable, 7/10.

Color Green-Rich Mullins
Contemporary Christian song from the 90s there or about. I never cared for his music until he hit upon using the hammered dulcimer and tin flute etc. Plus lyrically and rhythmically it's great.

Claypool Lennon Delirium. So far I've focused on the EP of covers and South of Reality album. They're experimental and reminiscent of King Crimson and early Pink Floyd at times and i don't mean just the songs they covered. Obviously the level of musicianship is incredible. Some moments remind me of Sparks. I find myself wishing they'd collaborate.

Metropolis - Space 8-10
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RXQSGCXhe7Q

Might dive into the restored movie over Christmas .
Moroder did a musical version . Never watched that though

The Moroder soundtrack edition is edited down but still very enjoyable .. his Track "Machines" has some sparks type synth work woven into it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mkdwUgd6iMA
