after a lot of beers and looking through my old music collection, I found a cassette of Van Morrison Avalon Sunset
1989 and yes my music box still plays cassettes, it's a fantastic Cassette and the 1st song with Cliff Richard sets the tone for a great CD Oh sorry a cassette. 9 out 10

Van Morrison and Cliff Richard? That's a combination! I love Van singing "Cleaning Windows"
I'm listening to quite a bit of Aretha Franklin at the minute but also have just finished playing John Adams "Nixon in China"..... (does this thread have to be pop music only? If so apologies but this opera is a cracker and weirdly enough some of the repetitive passages reminded me of parts of "Annette")

Annie was hooked up with Roy Wood around then and he had some input when the band said it might be selling out to try and write a hit single. I think he rubbished that idea.
