Dunno if we've done this one before, but which decade do you think was the most fruitful for Sparks, in terms of creativity, at least...?

I've voted for the 00s (what is the name of this decade?), not just because of Lil' B, but also because of their increased popularity and exposure. Also, the decade so far marks their creative shift from the under-rated Balls to Lil' B, and not many bands can reinvent themselves like that, especially so far into their career. Roll on the rest of the decade!

I voted for 70s, where Sparks helped create a whole new sound that influenced so many bands for years to come. Plus I just think they wrote their best songs then.

And who voted for the 60s? What did they produce in the 60s?

I don't know Mike. I am too young to know anything about the 60s!

some halfnelson demos came from the 60's of course
but I've chosen 70's, must more representative of their talent and genius.

Is anyone going to vote for the '90s? Surely their renaissance in '94 and their move to classical-sounding stuff with Plagiarism means that the '90s was a better era than, say, the '80s??

Have to say that Spark "Sparks" was totally different to "A Woofer In Tweeter's Clothing" which was nothing like "Kimono My House" which was somewhat removed from "Big Beat" that sounded nothing like "Introducing Sparks" which sounded like hell when compared to "No 1 Song in Heaven".

Cant think of another band that twisted and turned so much in a single decade to be honest.

So darn difficult to call this one, but most of my favourite albums are from the seventies even if i like all of the eighties stuff aswell, there's just less of it.

70's for me, but I couldn't tell you which incarnation I prefer: the "halfnelson" Sparks or the "UK" Sparks.

My Sparks Decades in order of preference would be:

The 70's
The 00's
The 90's
The 60's (I prefer the Halfnelson demo to most of the 80's stuff)
The 80's

I have a real problem with 80's production (in general, not just with Sparks stuff) Most records from this decade sound horrendous to me nowadays, the 70's stuff even sounds more contemporary. Some of Sparks 80's songs are pretty good but the dreaded 80's production renders a few of them unlistenable for me I'm afraid
