can somebody explain me how the outbox thing works?

i mean, if i sent a pm to somebody, and it is still in my outbox , and not on my sent messages, does it mean that :

a- the person that i sent him the pm is not on line?

b- the person is on line, but didn't check his inbox yet?

c- the person checked his inbox, but didn't open this specific message yet?

which one is the correct answer?

i am asking this, because i have some outbox messages that are too long here, and i want to know if its some kind of a technical problem, so i should try to send this messages again?

or there isn't any problem, just the other person didn't open his mail yet.

thanks for any answer.

A message will stay in your outbox untill the other opens it. Only after reading it, it will 'move' to you send items box.

Someone can be online many times but not check their mailbox or ignore or block the pup-up > when logging in and a new message has arrive. It will only pop if a new message has come.

eddy

thanks for the reply.

but how can you know for sure that this is how the outbox thing works?

maybe we should do a try ! :)

anyway, i still think that there is some technical problem, because i still have some outbox messages here, long after the person has opened his emails and answered other pm, that i sent him, on the same time as the one in my outbox.

Well maybe there was a technical problem.

But i guess... this is what i say at work to. If someone did not respond to a mail (or PM) you can always send it again or ask why it was not answered... and if it was answered. You should be able to delete it right?

I know some people had double posting with this PHP-error. So someone that got the first one might say. Yeah i answered it, not seeing he/she has got two identical pm's?
