I hope Sparks might appear

А почему мы у себя игнорируем данное событие? Непорядок!

I managed a few with my camera but can't post these presently due to technical problems. Hope to share in due course. Once Crystal Castles finished, there was a dispersal of bodies and a quick reckoning on identifiable Sparks fans barely made ten. That's when I started getting anxious.

However, by ten to eleven, the place suddenly got full. Behind me were rows of Sparks t-shirts which were wearing well. Many unfamilar lads and lassies enthusiastically began penetrating the ranks, coming forth making appreciative noises with gusto. Powerful in performance from the outset, a masterful Russell seemed to make an instant impact with some of the bonnie young females behind me, but I don't recall any yelling out his name. If these guys and girls weren't fans already, they were doing more than just a polite effort to fit in.

My photos are rubbish but I'll tidy them up a bit and post the better ones, and hopefully get a couple of vids up on YouTube.

Ahhaha ) I like this quote

"They're Sparks crossed with Sparks, with a bit of Sparks thrown in for good measure. "

- when I tried to explain smb what the new album sounds like I used almost full equivalent in Russian )

Russell was of course fantastic as always, and the midgies thought so too

Lol. Glad to see you got home ok last night Lilly.

It certainly was an amazing gig, well worth having to suffer through all the other bands first (was almost crushed to death by all the Crystal Castle fans) but I guess they were saving the best band till last.

There was a DJ who played a really cool remix of "Beat the Clock" and yeah, Ron actually did do his famous Ron dance Peter.

It was nice meeting some new Sparks fans as well, good to put a face to the name. Hope to see you again at future Sparks shows. Ron Playing

The BBC is doing decent coverage of the festival. They've put up some nice Sparks pics from the concert plus a nine-minute video interview, all of which can be accessed here:

From the flickr pics, the setting of the festival looks beautiful, with all those trees and overlooked by the castle.
It all looks very civilised. Did you spot Russell's R+R Tour truck?

Wonderful to see those pics and videos Julie's (Loriley) hair looks great, she even matched her eyebrows If I remember correctly 'Sin' was a redhead last time I saw her, now it's yummy chocolate brown.
Ha, ha that 'bed' looked a little bit short and not very comfortable for Ron, lucky for him he didn't need to 'sleep' for long.

There's a review full of high praise for the performance in the Sunday Herald. (Scroll down until you reach the world's greatest band):

Lilly, the videos and photos are fantastic - thank you so much. Glad you all had a good time. Also the article about the Festival had nothing but praise for the band, which is great! We all knew the truth about them long time ago, but the newbies are just finding out! Ain't it wonderful that they still attract new fans?

Ally, your review was the best I've ever read, very descriptive and a fun read. Thank you so much for that. For those of us who didn't make it we feel as though we had a major glimpse through the crack in the door made by your words and Lilly's photos and vids. Marvelous job you two!

Lol. I couldn't resist taking a photo of that myself.

Thanks so much for the interview Lauraleeandme. I wondered how Sparks ended up on the Gilmore Girls too. It's actually a really good show, the main character Lorelai, is so funny.

p.s. Wonder if those bottles of Stella Artois were Ron and Russell's, never had them down as beer drinkers, lol.
