Please be aware that if you're travelling to the USA, you must now fill in an on-line "ESTA" at least 72 hours prior to departure. Contact your local US Embassy for an on-line form. Only takes a couple of minutes, but it hasn't been widely publicised. Failure to do so will get you rejected either by your carrier, or US immigration.
It only came into effect on January 12th...

I'd have just turned up at the airport....
