This from BR bavarian radio

Sparks – MAD!
1994 hatten sie in Deutschland einen Riesen-Eurodisco-Hit mit “When do I get to sing ‘My Way’”. Do Things My Own Way”. A Little Bit of Light Banter”).

this album is a letdown , the last one was brillant ...
plus all of their 21st century albums are great..

but this is almost as bad as Interior Design

A reviewer in my area gave it a B grade, but that person tends to be pretty harsh on many bands I like, so I'm taking that B as a good sign. (I was busy at work so unable to sign onto any online listening party today.)

A challenging first listen, which is good. The standout tracks might be the best of the last four albums.
Production is outstanding. It's very Sparks-y, of course, but also great in a "pro, mainstream engineered" way.

Sooo...I'm at work and the MSN homepage on my computer is chock full of click bait. I'm a sucker for music lists of 'best guitarists' or 'lost AM classics'. Today it had an AP article about Sparks. A sure sign they've made it...or a sure sign I'm not doing work while at work.

In defence of Interior Design... for me, there are no "bad" Sparks albums. It's just each one has its own charm.

The new album is a bit underwhelming if I'm honest, but it has good songs. I love the schlager-esque sound of Lord Have Mercy and I hope they will perform it live next month.

I have a feeling that it will grow on me, so I'll keep listening to it (I'm on my third round now... I'm already liking it more!).
