Just been watching 8 video's from last night show, like what i seen so far. Ron did his dance during The number one song in heaven, needed a drink of water afterwards. Russell wearing the colourful suit from previous gigs. Thanks to those people for posting videos on YT so fans like me who couldn't come the gigs can join in with the fun.

Went to the London show on the 18th. A good crowd (though not full) and the usual great performance. I'm utterly amazed at Russell's energy, which a performer 50 years younger might struggle to replicate - and his voice is as good as it ever was. Having said that, I thought the sound overall wasn't great - loud, definitely, but not that clear. Though that might just be me!

As Sparks are embarking on the second part of their tour next month, l'm wondering.....is there still a big difference in the perception of them in Europe and America?
Are they appreciated equally in both places now or is there still a disparity?
I'm just nosy and wondering how the American ticket sales are going.

I think the Edgar Wright film leveled the playing field a little as far as perception and awareness. I’m not sure how this relates to popularity but MAD! was the highest charting album Sparks have ever had in America (according to Wiki).

I recently checked ticket sales for Cleveland, Washington and Atlanta. I would say ticket sales are slightly disappointing but I don’t know the expectations. To be fair, Cleveland has a pit area in front of the reserved seating area that holds several hundred, it might be near capacity.

Boston sales look pretty good (not phenomenal). They have strangely made VIP rows throughout the orchestra; Rows L, N, and P are VIP rows (Row A is the first row). I don't think that people who are willing to pay VIP prices are going to settle for being in Rows 12, 14, and 16. If they charged the normal price for those tickets, they would be gone within days.

I have seen that with VIP pricing for many artists. I'm 'guessing' the band management has input on the number of signed merch packages but the venue has control over location.

I'm sure there is somebody here more knowledgeable than myself on how it works with Sparks.

The Cleveland Masonic show has a floor area that can either be reserved or a GA pit area. When it's a seated area it seats around 250, it easily holds >600 when it's a GA pit.

The floor is a GA pit area for Sparks which I'm thankful. The reserved upper bowl area is peppered with VIP tix. Row J VIP is $222, the seat next to it is $58.

Don't complain, the VIP pricing might be partially why we are on the Street Team!

I purchased VIP tickets but wasn't on the Street Team. A friend forwarded me the email. Randy, have you received anything yet?

One of us made a turn without using a turn signal!

I was not talking about you having VIP tix.

I think having VIP tickets in middle rows is a head scratcher. I'm not surprised that they sell slowly.

I think the slow sales are partially responsible for recruiting a Street Team.

I will add that tickets for the show I just attended by The Offspring were moving slowly. Less than half of the 6000 pavilion seats were sold three or four days before the show.

The tix were practically gone the day before the show. I 'think' they did progressive pricing. The price fluctuates due to demand and I think many people wait until the last minute hoping prices will drop.

I got about 8 posters from the Street Team. I plan to take them to record stores and at least one college radio station. Does it make sense to hang them up near the venue? If you think you have a good idea for this, please let me know.

As a Street Team member some years ago, I utilised free public notice boards in country villages, I was allowed to put some in train stations and some pubs so it’s a case of being creative.

That reminds me, there was one pub in a village called Handcross which refused point blank to have anything to do with my requests to display a poster…however the local butcher and hardware shop were quite amenable ( the butcher was a one time fan)…well that pub shut down but the hardware shop and butcher are thriving…a lesson to be learned, Never deny the power of Sparks!

It looks like I didn't make the cut!

Maybe because I'm 40 minutes away but I'm sure there are fans in Akron that would appreciate a reminder about the Cleveland show.

If this is the biggest disappointment I experience this year then I think I'll be OK.

I ran around Harvard Square and the Back Bay of Boston hanging up street team posters today. What I realize is that we really don't have any public message areas outdoors in the States. Whenever I'm in Europe, there are posters plastered up everywhere. In Germany, there area "Litfaßsäulen", which are fat columns specifically for posters and announcements. I went into record shops, bookstores, Harvard University, the bar where people are meeting up before the Boston show, and one ice cream shop. I was only turned away from the magnificent Boston Public Library (because they only post free events) and by a bookstore that no longer has a space for such things. I hung up 8 posters in total. I would like someone at Bowery Boston, the promoters of the show, to get in touch with radio stations to ask them to put the show in their concert reports. It's almost like the concert is an IYKYK event, because if you don't know, no one is going to tell you about it.

Columbus (September 14th) and Cleveland (September 15th) shows were moved to different venues. Tickets for the new venues currently on sale.

The Cleveland show being moved from the Masonic to The Agora is a total winner for me. I now have prepaid parking in a lot beside the venue plus a fast pass to the pit area. Woohoo!

I think I've been banned from the forum. I haven't been able to get in for days and days. I finally got in, but my message wouldn't send - I got the same error message as always. I just wanted to say that I'm leaving for my first US show (Philadelphia) tomorrow. Randy, I'm glad that the Cleveland move is better for you.

Dont worry Waterloosunset, no one's been banned, we're all getting the same "critical error" all the time ... I hope it will be fixed soon.

If the messageboard starts working we can get the banned back together.
