There`s been quite a few remixes of Sparks Tracks over the years by different people in different styles....

do you think it`s a good thing or bad.....
....or maybe it shouldn`t be done at all ?

What`s your favourite and/or most despised Remix...and why ?

Easy one....The Darkness version of ' this town ' i'm a big darkness fan but some songs need left alone to stand the test of time, which ' this town ' definetely does.

It just doesn't capture the same moods and emotions at all, sorry but it does nothing for me whatsoever.

Dave.

I agree over This Town. I only supported it for our beloved brothers sake.

I have to agree about cover versions generally, probably best to leave it to the masters.....personally, I simply don`t have or want them.

So what about the Plagiarism mixes....is that generally a thumbs up situation, and what about the same treatment to other single albums ?

I`d be intrigued to hear their take on Woofer, for example, 30 years on.

As far as strictly mixes are concerned, I`d have to say the original long version of Number 1 in Heaven as compared to the radio edit is the most effective for me, but there are a few others I have high regard for as well...

then there`s the BBC/My Way/Kiss You mixes saga....which probably deserve a whole thread to themselves :-)

I hate remixes, the worst is "When I kiss you" remix,in my opinion...

That`s one I haven`t heard....then again I haven`t really heard many come to think of it apart from Siouxie`s one years ago....
I thought those couple by David whatsisname (dance like black people etc) weren`t too bad for a non-pro....the one`s that were on FanMael.

I only listened to those as I hadn`t heard that track before ;-)

Well, you know, it always depends on the final result. Like I never much liked the Prodigy's Voodoo People, but I always enjoyed the ChemBros remix of this. Today I saw a video of When I Kiss You for a remixed When I Kiss You. It would be a perfect background video for Sparks talking or as an ad for their something. Their remixes for 80s songs are quite good. They sound better than the original ones. So it always depends. Blah blah... Blah.
