Not everyone can listen to Sparks 24/7 surely, so what`s your other main musical listening choice, generally ?

I`m not convinced about all this stuff you hear about age and musical preference.....
The whole idea seems very bizarre to me, that just because you add a few numbers onto your age, means you are not "supposed" to like certain things musically....
....why exactly can`t an 85 year old granny like a bit of techno ?

LadyG...if you specify what you define as Rock & Heavy (sorry I couldn`t add more options to make it easy) it would help :-) ....70`s/90`s/Metal/Thrash....etc ???

But first reply as Rock, am I surprised...no....

10 choices are indeed too restrictive....now if there had been an option for "All Of the above".....

Well Alex, yes you are right, I had hoped "Radio Popular" would serve as a blanket for that option, a sort of "I don`t care what it is, as long as it`s music" catchment area...

I did start to give each option a stereotypical description, but it ended up sounding a bit too rude....

You know how easily slighted people can be ;-)

Bit Boring but its a good Sleep inducer I find lol.. Bit of
Jean michel Jarre, Robert Miles, Oldfield this sort of stuff !!

I actually DO listen to Sparks 24-7. I tell no lies!! I just can't seem to get into any other kind of music.

You're right EF!! I have sort of a rotating system where I listen to one album and then that goes to the back of the 'queue' so to speak and then I listen to the next one in the queue and so on.......

I do listen to the charts though - just to keep up to date. Also I do quite like The Killers and The Kaiser Chiefs - but I only listen to them occasionally.

But do you skip one if you`re not in the mood for it ?

Sometimes I try my mp3 player (software) on random, but I always end up picking & choosing ;-)

Yeah, I do tend to skip certain albums at times because as you say EF, you just have to be in the mood for it. The same goes with my iPod. I have it on 'shuffle' but do skip tracks depending on my mood.

Peter,I think you will find that the author of the poll did apologise for it being limited...until someone can tell us how to put more than 10 choices in one poll. The only person(as far as I know) who has put a poll with more than 10...won't share his knowledge because his banquet table has been scoffed at!

im still catching up and idscovering the lost gems of the 70's as sadly i wasnt there. so bands such as ELP, STYX, Yes, etc etc. are still new to me. though a new band called The dresden dolls from boston in my opinion are one of the most exciting things ive heard in years. A duo one plays piano/keyboard and vocalist the other percussion. very phronetic playing which draws similar contrasts to sparks, though perhaps not directly as they call their genre punk rock caberet.

I also "do" ballet. Saw Mike Rutherford at the Kirov in Covent Garden a couple of years ago... He wasn't embarrassed either!
