Drat and double drat. Missed one.
Felt really ill (not The Cold but some sort of stomach thingy) and super-tired yesterday so had to make the painful decision to sacrifice 'Rabbits' for the greater good (ie not making myself worse).
I was *so* hoping to do the whole lot; very annoying.
Hope the more hardy had a good gig, see y'all on Tuesday.
Alison

We noticed you weren't there Alison - hope you're feeling better.
I can feel my throat getting sore again, I'm flinging medication at it to try and stop it making me miss anything.

NB - I think that may be due to the supports we've had who have been more guitary based bands. I find my self standing with my fingers in my ears and not just because I don't like their music.

Loz - nothing but trainers or shit kicker shoes for gigs. I even started skipping again to get the standand bob up and dance concert move.

My laugh is not infectious but I am.

Yup sore throaty thing turned in to loss of voice thing which is now a stupid cough/chest infection thing. Be damned if I miss a show but I'm not so keen to latch on to the barrier tomorrow night. I'm considering mooching by the left hand bar where I can try and hide when a coughing fit strikes fellow pleurisy sufferers may join me on the floor.

we've all got the same kind of thing at least..
terrible heaviness on chest/throat thing going on, that isn't manifesting itself in coughing or sore throats, just feels like someone's standing on my neck. anyone with that symptom?

and yeah i'm relinquishing dancing at the front for dancing in about row 4. might start wearing a handkerchief over face to stop the germs.

(I'm better now)

I think I know your problem. It's called 'singing-too-much-itis'.
Singing along with gusto at one or two gigs is do-able. Singing along with gusto at 21 gigs is a different matter, unless you are Russell of course.
My tactic is to chew gum to stop myself singing along to everything; as I'm not Russell I know that my throat wouldn't be up to it.

I'm doing just fine, and you have all probably coughed in my direction.
That's it! Sparks fans are all wimps!
(Ducking down below the parapet again!)
Just joking! Hope you all are well and up for the remainder!

Well it looks like Ron is coming down with a cold too. Not surprised during this crappy weather. Someone should write a song about England's damp weather.

I reckon I caught my 21x21 cold during the Big Beat/Intro/No1 shows I went to but it didn't kick in until Terminal Jive, which I didn't go to. The sore throat went after a day, but since then and still today, I have had a blocked/runny nose. It's very inconvenient as I have to keep blowing my nose; I've already used up a whole box of Kleenex Man Size. Apart from Angst, I didn't go to the 80s albums nights but I will be going to the remainder of the shows, so I'll have to take a great wodge of Kleenex with me, unless my cold gets better. Achoo!
