Impressive array of cameras covering all angles at both shows for the live DVD, so with so much content filmed, can we be looking at a double disc release, hopefully with some worthwhile extras?

Wow! Sounds good. There's a lot of material there though, and I wouldn't want anything missed by condensing.

I've been desperate for some footage of the 21x21 gigs to come out. If these aren't going to come out in a package, it would be good to have some wee clips as extras? Or, a bit of R&R and the boys talking about the new album?

Absolutely Ally, I think what previous live DVD's have lacked is decent extra's, in the form of 'Making Of....' interviews from R&R. It would also be good to hear from the other lads, the Steve's, Jim & Marcus, and how they've found life as Sparks, especially tackling 21x21 last year.

Definately has been the downside of Sparks DVDs thus far. As for the double DVD; I'm prettey sure it will be. In an interview on Absolute Radio, Russell said that both nights in London were being flimed and the UCLA gig was filmed as well for a DVD release sometime soon. I think he also mentioned there being some clips of 21x21, too.

What I'd like to see - in my dreams - would be a triple DVD. How about this:

DVD 1: The Classics: Best performances of Number one in heaven, KMH, from LA, London, Tokyo.

DVD 2: All the Hits - Live! Yep, all the singles, from Wonder Girl to Morrisey, as performed at the 21 by 21 gigs. Or at least, all that can fit on a DVD, but with each album represented by at least one song, and National Crime Awareness Week thrown in too.

DVD 3: ECOTD, Favorites and Rarities - best performance from the ECOTD performances, the 21 by 21 encores, and the encores from the current set of performances.

Now that would be a HELL of a DVD Set.

Would love to hear other ideas!

I was counting 8 or 9 cameras on the Kimono gig

I was right next to the sound box and could see on a pc screen the footage from the camera on the rail in front of the stage.
Some really excellent images.

I also would love a double live DVD set of the Forum gigs. I hope that the 3 albums done live are released as a whole and not split up. Extras could be highlights from last year's 21 x 21's. It would be brilliant to have released a DVD box set of all the albums done live. I guess that won't happen. But I can dream...........

Trouble is, i'm not really sure the 21x21 gigs were really filmed... not properly anyway. I mean, there was that 'web-cam' at the back of the room, but I didn't see any REAL cams, not on my nights anyway.

did anyone witness professional recording on any night of 21x21? Seems a missed oportunity tho...

Equator from the Forum HAS to be included!

I'd like a full recording of each show, that's what I have my fingers crossed for.

21x21 was filmed by madeline and frank, using two HD cameras - they screened the concerts back to fans lucky enough to find out about it at their hotel on a big screen on the evenings after the gigs..

Well, a live DVD with every song from ECOTD, Kimono and N1IH sounds great and, frankly, makes sense from a commercial standpoint. In an ideal world, however, the Maels would release a DVD of just ECOTD Live without This Town.

It reminds me of when Russell spoke about the 21/21 shows last year as a way of focusing attention on the new album. Now, it was a marvellous concept and deservedly got them a lot of attention, but in the end I think the whole extravaganza overshadowed ECOTD.

Putting together a live DVD is a challenge, will all 3 albums get equal billing, or will it be ECOTD Live with extras ?

Cheers, Fred Ekelund

Yes yes. This is true.
I remember watching Kimono afterwards. It was very good quality.

We stayed at the same hotel this year.

It was good but not the same without the replay of No.1 in Heaven!

Wow! Really?! I didn't know that. And was it every night or just some nights?? If it was every night they must have been very cloak n dagger with the cams, as i never spotted them!! (mind you, i only had eyes for RnR those nites!!!)

Thanks

If anyone filmed Ally Dodd doing the Ron dance on Saturday night at the Eddie, that has to be a must for the DVD extras.
