Really scary coming home from the cinema at 11.30 last night having seen Star Wars. Declined to drive down the 1 in 10 hill to my house on compacted snow so left the car in a safe place and walked down. Luckily it was still there at 9am this morning

^Glad you used common sense and everything worked out! Sometimes in those situations, it's hard to do the smart thing.

A storm is expected here Christmas eve evening/night traveling up the eastern states. We're heading further east so hopefully at our son's before it starts. One of those "could be snow, could be wintry mix, could be rain" depending on exactly where you are with it changing in a small area so we shall see. Doesn't sound like the proverbial "white Christmas" though.

Speaking of, Merry Christmas to my Sparks buddies. You have often lightened up my day when I needed a reason to smile.

Here in Pennsylvania we've gone from the high 70sF back down to around 40-45F. Inching it's way back up into the 50s this week. It rained almost every day last week. River waters are near flood stage but should have peaked and be on their way down as we head into sunshine tomorrow. We never really did have snow this winter. :(

Snowing on and off all day. The worst was when I was coming back from the gym. Covered in the stuff with a mile long walk to the bus stop!

And even that stopped in about half an hour, but not before coating the whole shebang about an inch thick.

You know it's bad when the council finally gets the gritters out...

We do quite well as our road leads to a major communications mast.
As is traditional with such weather , my central heating boiler packed in. Just needed a new thermocouple which was purchased and fitted yesterday. The young man in Screwfix assumed I was getting a Corgi registered gas fitter in. So if anyone asks, Alex Robertson did the job

I think Screwfix sounds more like a dating site than a business one...

If I was in charge of Royal Mail I'd rename it Royal MAEL and have the posties wear Russ' GITS shorts.

IN. ALL. WEATHERS.
