A historic gig this is going to be on 24th August. Hardly any pop bands have had the distinction of being selected to play the actual Edinburgh Festival. Over the years, I've encountered many impressive artists who could only dream for the chance to be chosen for the Festival, and did their noble bit on the Fringe.

Now I'm happily booked for Manchester, which is the day after. Phew! Its going to be a rush for this slug in this intercity commute. Its the height of the Edinburgh Festival, and its population will be doubled. Getting around the congested streets, (and much of its network is closed), means every journey takes at least twice as long as normal, and travel becomes a stressful ordeal. A nightmare for the band the logistics must be! No doubt, Sue Harris will yet again don the familiar cloak as WonderWoman

Quite a few of the serious press have picked this up, the Telegraph puts it in the "what not to miss" list

I spoke to the Theatre staff today and they said the running time of this show is down for approx. 2 1/4 hours.

Anyone like to suggest a pub for the pre gig meet-up? Forecast is for rain on Monday.

I'll start the ball rolling..

Quirky is the Brass Monkey in Drummond Street. Atmospheric with eclectic sounds. Good beer. Toilets are rather basic though. Fans might prefer a bigger, lighter arena.

Btw poster on venue says support is Slug.

I've got no idea about places in Edinburgh, so I'm happy to go with Allydod's suggestion. Does the Brass Monkey have a jukebox which plays Sparks!?!

Without posting a proper review
Edinburgh last night blew the shows I have seen already in Glasgow and London
More together ?
Just seemed to read each other much better
Was absolutely fantastic - possibly the best live version of this town I have seen
I think I have mentioned before - the non " stars " in FF are total work horses
Fantastic show
