Anyone know why the Mini Mansions guys aren't touring with them any more? That had become a really good group.

Yes, it was a magnificent performance by Russell, who sprung around like he had elastic cartilage. In celebrated contrast, Ron remained stiff as a stop sign at the keyboard.

For a Glasgow crowd, it was polite. There weren't the witty shouts from previous gigs. However, there was a good turn out and plenty cheers.

The setlist will remain guarded. Variety and trascending genres that Sparks pioneered could be a theme. Favourites will duly delight fans elsewhere.

It goes without saying that Stephen Nistor was a whirlwind with the sticks. Evan Weiss was true to form on guitar and backing vocals. After four or five numbers, the new guys really got going showing a high standard of musicianship and vocal ability, as if in tribute to the beloved line-ups of the past.

I've lost count of the times I've seen Sparks. Yet still they leave me speechless with the brilliance of their live shows. How lucky I was to have discovered them and have they come back time after time. Roll on Leeds.

He's just went down a storm! Even the blokes with pints in the bar were cheering!

Met up with 3 friends in a bar in Leeds near the venue.They had never seen the band before.Knew they were going-I have been saying for years get yourselves there.One is a close childhood friend who lived a few doors away and a huge Morrissey Smiths fan from the very beginning.He was blown away as were the other 2 lads.He said Morrissey was shocking recently in Leeds and he said it was that bad he will not go again.Said Sparks were absolutely stunning and he wants to go again and again.Three more converts who are already buying up the back catalogue.

The guy I was sat next to was a first timer too and likewise suitably blown away.
Can't be too many "veteran " bands still gaining new fans.

Still recovering from the brilliant Sparks gig at Kentish Town London. I manage to get down near the front and enjoyed every second of the show. Russell looked so happy while performing and i laughed after Ron dance when he wiped his brow. Two people in the crowd got Sparks souvenirs when Russell throw castanets into the crowd and Ron his tie. I notice camera's at the gig, could be the reason the gig lasted longer than normal. I wonder if there will be a Hippopotamus Live DVD in the future.
